Pre-Workshop Application for Initial Applicant Schools

The Pre-Workshop Application for Initial Applicant Schools is required for any institution seeking initial accreditation from ACCSC.

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the accreditation process, and in order to ensure that a school meets ACCSC’s eligibility criteria prior to applying for initial accreditation, ACCSC requires an initial applicant school to submit a Pre-Application in order to afford the school an opportunity to demonstrate that institutional eligibility is met prior to expending the costs to attend an Accreditation Workshop.

The Pre-Workshop Application for Initial Applicant Schools is required for any institution seeking initial accreditation from ACCSC, or for any institution currently accredited by another institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education that is seeking initial accreditation from ACCSC.

The Pre-Workshop Application for Initial Applicant Schools must be accepted in writing by ACCSC before the full-time on-site director or appropriate management team representative of each school seeking accreditation from ACCSC is able to register for the mandatory Accreditation Workshop which is required in order to begin the initial accreditation process.

Schools should allow for 45-60 days to be contacted by ACCSC regarding the status of a Pre-Workshop Application.

The Pre-Workshop Application for Initial Applicant Schools must be submitted via email as one Portable Document Format (“PDF”) file to preworkshopapplication@accsc.org.

As you might imagine there is tremendous interest in ACCSC accreditation.  To date, ACCSC has facilitated a series of workshops for schools seeking to transition and will be announcing the next slate of workshops by the end of October. Seating at the mandatory accreditation workshops is limited, and therefore institutions seeking initial accreditation are currently limited to one registration per campus. The Accreditation Workshops are available on a first come, first serve basis.

In fulfilling its obligations as a recognized institutional accrediting body, ACCSC has the authority to establish eligibility criteria it deems appropriate and is under no obligation to consider or approve any pre-workshop application it receives. Based on the disclosures provided by the school in this pre-application, ACCSC reserves the right to determine a school ineligible for ACCSC-accreditation.

Contact Christopher Lambert, Associate Executive Director at clambert@accsc.org with any questions regarding the pre-workshop application process.
