Higher Education Transfer Alliance (HETA)

The Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is inviting nationally and regionally accredited institutions to be a part of the Higher Education Transfer Alliance (HETA). The purpose of HETA is to enhance the ability for students attending institutions that are accredited by agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or CHEA to transfer credits.

HETA is a voluntary database of accredited institutions that are concerned with the importance of student mobility, enhancing success in transfer of credit, and affirming the responsibility and prerogative of individual institutions with respect to transfer of credit. To participate in HETA, institutions must be accredited by a CHEA- or U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting organization and represent that they carry out their transfer practices in a manner consistent with the four criteria contained in the CHEA Statement to the Community: Transfer and the Public Interest.

To learn more about HETA and to complete the application for your institution to become part of this important effort to strengthen transfer-of-credit practice visit CHEA's web site. Listing in the HETA database is voluntary.
