Call for Comments
Persons, institutions and organizations affected by, or with an interest in, the Commission’s standards and policies are advised of proposed standards and of the date they will be given consideration by the Commission. This is accomplished by a memorandum from the Executive Director of the Commission, and comments are solicited. After distribution of proposed standards, interested persons, institutions and organizations are given a minimum of 30 days to file written comments with the Commission. The Commission welcomes and encourages the comments of accredited institutions and interested parties. Representatives of ACCSC accredited institutions are encouraged to read carefully any proposed revisions and to submit comments and recommendations for consideration by the Commission.
After considering the written comments, the Commission may adopt the standard as proposed, adopt the standard with revisions, defer action for further study and consideration, or reject the proposed standard. If the standard is adopted, the Commission will establish an effective date allowing reasonable time for institutions to come into compliance.
